Not me Monday

Good morning! (or afternoon/night.....whenever it is that you are popping in my world).....I hope this finds you smiling and well.....

After surviving a week of cooking, shopping, cleaning, decorating, shuffling, bustling, and lots of eating.....I thought today would be a good day to lighten up and join in on the Not Me Monday Fun. It's a great way to look back and just have a good laugh at your own expense which, as you know.....I am totally all about.

So without further adieu (what does that mean anyway???).......I give you a little glimpse of a few days in the life of *~Michelle~*

I will not shameless start by encouraging you to start following my other blog, The Jesse Tree. This is a nightly devotional, starting tonight and is a beautiful way to learn the story of God's salvation plan from Creation throughout the Old Testament. You can get your crafty-self on and make ornaments if you would like for each devotion. It's just a wonderful way to spend a little more time with your family/children and really take in what this Season is truly about.

I also will not be pushy encourage you to grab the button (that my good friend Dawn's techy son made for me) and put it on your blog to help spread the Word. (you can get the button/code over at Isaiah 11: 1-2)

How awesome will it be to have so many families worshiping together.....all in the name of Jesus!!!

This weekend, I did not notice while driving to my 25th high school reunion that I only polished ONE hand! Nahhhhhhh.....I wouldn't be that scatterbrained. So I did not have to stop at a pharmacy on the way and try to match up the polish colors. I certainly did not walk around with two different shades of brown nails. Nope! Not me! But, this is a picture of me and my dear friend Karen, we've been friends since Kindergarten!

(And I know that you did NOT immediately just calculate how old I am with that last statement .......you would never do that! *wink)

I did not make arrangements to pick up our mama goats from their "brothel visit" as my 18-year-old son calls it this morning. Apparently, he has come to the conclusion that we are part of a goat prostitution ring since we paid a stud fee......and is quite disgusted about it.

When we headed out for Round 2 of Black Friday shopping........I did not accuse Josh of being scatter brained about leaving his wallet and cell phone at home. I did not relentlessly tease him for approximately five full minutes that my ADD was rubbing off on him after all these years together........all while I was sitting on them the whole time. No, my butt can not be that padded that I wouldn't notice.

And lastly.....I did not walk in on my toothless princess one night to find her watching TV in my room........in my bed.......with a chicken!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes.....she brought Poof (remember that story???) in and had him wrapped up in a towel, sleeping bag style and they were watching iCarly together. Of course I was tempted to take a picture, but thought that might encourage the matter more. *sigh* I told you she was Elly May Clampett!

OK, I must get going, I hope I gave you a good giggle on my behalf today.....I'm good like that!

Tons to do......we are getting our Christmas tree tonight, so I have furniture to move and dust bunnies to trap. I hope you had a blessed and safe Thanksgiving break.....don't forget to join us in worship with The Jesse Tree!

Peace and love~

Not me Monday!

Had a crazy weekend.....trying to get a grip on my organizational skills and wrapping up my mini pity party for one.

I thought I'd add some laughter to the whirlwind of emotions and jump into the Not Me Monday Fun with everyone from MckMama's world. It's a great way to admit some of your imperfections and reveal a few moments that you might rather forget. Whatever it is.....it is great therapy and a great way to start the week and just laugh at yourself.

OK, so here it goes......I did not forget to put gel in my hair the other morning when I dashed out to beat the heat and run errands. No, I was not horrified to see my reflection on my car window and see that my hair frizzed out to a one foot radius resembling Rosanna Rosannadanna.

I did not walk around scolding the kids for bringing chicken poop on my newly washed floors only to look down and find a blob of chicken crap stuck to one of my Crocs. Nope, not me.

N did not tell me that I had many purple splatter spots on my face from tie dyeing an order......only after I went to door twice and had conversations with two people, the UPS guy and someone who wanted to buy eggs. Man, I need to look in the mirror more often. I think I had an air boogie dangling from my nose too. neat.

I did not each a platter of nachos the other morning at my pity party for one. I did not justify that it was a healthy representation of the food pyramid: grains (chips), vegetables (salsa), dairy (sour cream and cheese). Then I did not whip up another more loaded version for dinner and justified it yet again with same "healthy" ingredients and added in my protein (ground turkey cooked with taco seasoning).

I did not imagine I was a stealth ninja when I snuck on my neighbor's farm to grab some milkweed for our monarch caterpillars. The Mission Impossible theme song was not playing in my head as I dashed under the electric fencing. And I did not feel the urge to do a cool tuck and roll under that fence upon exiting just for the full effect for N who was watching from the van.
**Edited to Add: I feel the need to explain that my neighbor has told me I was welcome to any of his milkweed.....the "sneaking" on was more for avoiding the angry cows and the cow pies and giving a more dramatic adventure tone to the story.

And today......I will not shamefully brag on my husband. Of course he is my bestest friend in the whole wide world and is handsome, brave, loving and smart.....that's a gimme. But I wanted to mention that you might want to pop over to his blog, The Book of Joshua, that he started pouring into recently. Tell him I sent you and you get a cool prize......well, you do not really......I don't even know why I thought to dangle that carrot say that. Of course I am bias because he is my hubby......but he writes from his heart and I encourage you to check it out. He doesn't get to post often as he works.....oh 50+ hours a week, and that is just at his paying job.....but when he does....he's got some good stuff to say.

OK, I gotta jet.......Mount Rushmore of laundry needs to be conquered and I haven't even had my second cup of coffee.

Happy Monday!

Peace and love~

Michelle

Not me Monday!

So with all the intense emotions of this past week.....I thought it would be good healthy therapy for me to lighten it all up, jump in on the fun from MckMama's blog and crank out a Not Me Monday post today. If you've never taken part in this carnival where you are able to just laugh at yourself for your "imperfections" and reveal some quite funny things that you might rather forget......I encourage you to do so. It's all about "being brutally honest and living to tell about it". It's the perfect remedy for when you start taking life (and yourself) too seriously!

OK, so yesterday I did not go to Stop and Shop and buy five pounds of their russet potato salad, put it in one of my better stoneware bowls and now plan on claiming it is my own for a belated 4th of July cookout that I am going to tonight. nope. I would never do that.

I was not out in the torrential rain one morning this past week in Josh's knee-high wader boots and only wearing my hoodie and boxer underwear diverting the water away from my barn. I did not look like a drowned rat who had an L.L. Bean fashion disaster. I was not covered in mud from head to toe. The mailman did not happen to catch this unsightly image either.

Speaking of unsightly images......I did not use the old puffy eye cure of "dab of hemorrhoid cream under the eyes" on Saturday night so that I wouldn't look like I went ten rounds with Mike Tyson for church on Sunday morning. And I really do not think that I just admitted that I actually *had* hemorrhoid cream available in my bathroom cabinet. No *bag on head* here!

I also did not run go to the salon that I work at part-time to give myself a much needed wax-ing when my daughter pointed out that I had five little hairs on my upper lip......and she didn't tell me this valuable information when we were at the checking out at the grocery store. It also did not feel that she grabbed the intercom system when announcing it either.

I did not learn how to "sex" my young chickens this weekend and it did not involve me pressing two fingers in a spot that no human should be putting their fingers on any creature for that matter. "Sexing" by the way is just fancy chicken lingo for trying to figure out who is a girl and who is a boy chicken. fun!

And on a happy note.......I did not feel guilty eating three er, two pieces of the homemade ice cream cake that I made to celebrate, not only Freedom Day......but Josh and I's unofficial 19 year anniversary. Yes, Josh was the date-that-never-left way back on the Fourth of July in 1990.

*maybe I should switch the order of listing these "not me" statements......... as the subject of me eating a yummy dessert is following having my fingers in not so nice places. OK.....let's just know that I we have lots of anti-bacterial soap here and I seriously...... most absolutely....... definitely used it.

hello?......are you still here? Between a hairy upper lip and now the pretense that I have horrendous hygiene.....I am wondering if y'all raced your mouse to close out this window....

OK, if you are still with me.....God bless your faith in me.....

...... on an even happier note....I need to share this one last thing:

God did not blow my socks off by adding to my testimony of His faithfulness.....remember the blessed $200 from my Job experience this past week? God certainly uses "paying it forward" to bind the enemy as I received this email from Sue (the wonderful woman who blessed us)

".........
I have to add to your testimony(God wasn't finished yet). As you know, the rains have made it horrible and actually impossible for farmers to cut and bale their hay. My friend that I get my hay from, had hoped to hay this weekend, and so I was holding on, praying that God would stop the rains for at least 4 days and waiting for her call. I had shopped around this past week, but with prices at $13 a bale(and "not-so-nice" hay at that), I didn't have that kind of cash....I figured I'd "force" the goats out to pasture!!! But as I was down to my very LAST bale this morning, I remembered that one of my 4Hers dad sold hay and so called him asking if he had roughly 25 bales to hold me over....he told me to come by before it started raining again. An hour later, I had a pick-up full of nice 2nd cutting hay from last year....the cost....$200.

"Godronic" isn't it?? What's the scripture about being patient and waiting on the Lord??

........"

I am wondering how the $200 blessed that man and who/how he blessed another with it.

So there you have it. Wrapping up this Not Me Monday fun with a big fat Amen!

Now, hop on over to MckMama's My Charming Kids blog and join in on some great "laughter is the best medicine" kinda fun.

Have a great day~
Peace~

Not Me Monday!

So I always enjoy reading the hilarious posts from McKMama and friends with the Not Me Monday posts.....and thought today would be fun to jump on that wagon and join in! You basically 'fess up about a few things you've done that week (funny, embarrassing, sentimental)...and pretend that you totally did not actually do them!

OK, so that won't be hard for me

I did not feel like I went ten rounds with Mike Tyson after attempting Level Two of The 30 Day Shred this weekend.

I did not swear like a sailor when she (that would be the evil drill sergeant Jillian Michaels Shred-monger) instructed to do five more of this humanly impossible feat of lifting my arms with weights while lunging my legs in the opposite direction. Nope. not this Christian gal. ;)

I also did not blow all that hard work when I devoured two baskets of chips and salsa at Applebees on Saturday night.....and did not order extra sour cream either.

I did not pee my pants during a relentless 13 sneeze attack at N's soccer practice. And I did not make a mad dash to the Port-a-John before the floodgates opened. I guess that would not prove that I did not do my Kegels after each time I birthed one of my children, like my doctor suggested.

I did not run outside my house one night (after dark) last week in my underwear because I was dared to by my teenagers. It was not because we were celebrating our victory over debt and I did not mention how I felt like just doing that (in a crazy victory dance kinda way).....and they called me on it. I am not one of those people who cannot say no to a challenge.

I do not have a bag on my head right now for admitting those things.

I did not bawl my eyes out I watched the Mother's Day "DVD card" that Josh and the kids made for me....which included interviews of each of them telling me why I was so special and the best mom ever. I also did not laugh when N mentioned that her mom was loving and caring....not aggressive, like our rooster. That DVD was not the best.gift.ever. It will not be cherished forever either.

And speaking of roosters and chickens......I did not witness the most amazing event watching nine chicks being brought into this world over the weekend.

Ahhhhh, that felt good. Nothing like a healthy confessional to start my week! If you could use a little yourself.....pop on over to My Charming Kids and join in too.

Peace, love and stay barefoot~
